Bachmann electronic GmbH, world-renowned manufacturer of integrated automation solutions, presents the latest developments for industry and mechanical engineering at the SPS Nuremberg, November 23 to 25, 2022. This year, alongside PROFIsafe, Visualization and Condition Monitoring highlights, Bachmann will launch its new M100 I/O System.

M100 system: Evolution through competence

The M100 I/O system is the perfect addition for decentralized distribution in combination with the Bachmann M200 series. The brand new hardware architecture, and system design based on the highest security standards, were built according to Bachmann’s commitment to long-term performance.

The M100 series includes a wide portfolio of relevant modules for the acquisition, pre-processing and output of decentralized signals, such as configurable I/Os for every signal type (including AI/AO, DI/DO, temperature, and position). Exceptional module-to-module communication was a critical factor, as were lantency periods, Total Cost of Ownership and excellent mechanical features. The M100 is ready to meet the highest demands. Remote units are securely connected to the controller via standardized, real-time-capable fieldbus couplers. The compact design, encased in a metal housing, is extremely robust and packed with functions, minimizing the risk of faults due to the operating environment and ensuring long-term, highly-efficient performance. Bachmann is initially working with EtherCAT as a standardized, real-time capable, variable fieldbus connection. Further communication standards to connect the M100 I/O system will follow successively.

Machine and Plant Visualization: Object Orientation and Performance Lowers Engineering Time and Cost

In combination with Bachmann’s OT1200-1400 operator panels, atvise® provides a complete solution for machine and plant visualization applications – HMI, SCADA or Cloud. The modern panel PCs, equipped with the latest Tiger Lake processor architecture, are designed for industrial use as a support arm device or for control cabinet installation. The large selection of performance classes and display diagonals enables universal machine building applications. The latest atvise® onboard features and open communication platform atvise® connect (based on OPC UA) makes this the ideal combination for Industry 4.0 projects.

PROFIsafe: More than State-of-the-Art

Secure digital inputs and outputs, and the secure integration of incremental encoders and analog signals, have long been part of Bachmann’s portfolio. And now, thanks to PROFIsafe integration, the portfolio has been decisively expanded. In conjunction with the SLC284 module, the Bachmann PROFIsafe F-Host is a pure software solution that enables the expansion of existing safety solutions without additional hardware - opening up a huge range of PROFIsafe-capable I/O modules. PROFIsafe-capable drives, laser scanners, light grids, absolute encoders or vibration sensors can now be integrated into Bachmann safety applications.

Predictive Maintenance: New Condition Monitoring Perspectives

Bachmann has long been established as a market leader in Condition Monitoring systems for wind turbines. And now, mechanical and plant engineering in other sectors can also benefit from decades of Condition Monitoring expertise. Whether for new service and maintenance business models; remote monitoring; or planning the next generation of sustainable units and components - science-based data analysis in integrated condition monitoring systems offers many starting points for new industrial applications.

The Bachmann Group's system solutions for industry can be found in exhibition hall 7, at stand 380.
