Develop Redundancy Applications with Bachmann’s M-target

Feldkirch, Austria – May 11, 2021

M-Target for Simulink® from automation specialist Bachmann electronic enables model-based development for its M1 Automation System. The sequential and closed-loop control program is tested in advance on an office workstation against a multiphysical plant simulation model. Code for the M1 controller is generated, installed and run on the CPU at the click of a mouse.

With its latest M-Target for Simulink® version 2.40, Bachmann is breaking new ground: for the first time, an M1 real-time application generated from Simulink® can run as part of a redundancy application. This means that sophisticated control strategies can be implemented and tested in high-availability plants for critical infrastructures. The modular M1 Automation System, with its on-board networking possibilities and security packages, provides the optimal platform.

Other advantages of M-Target include the elegant processing of analog measurement series acquired at up to 51.2kHz in a Simulink®-generated application. This provides an overview of the current plant status at all times.

Ongoing travel restrictions highlight the advantages of model-based development: control algorithms for the M1 Automation System are designed and tested with M-Target for Simulink® on an office workstation, minimizing required on-site commissioning time.
