Bachmann on Course for Success

Over 20% growth and positive business development

“We are pulling together to face major challenges.” The two CEOs Bernhard Zangerl and Werner Elender at Bachmann electronic are confident.

The Bachmann Group increased its sales in the financial year 2014 by 23% to around 60 million euros. The automation specialists from Feldkirch, Austria, are optimistic about 2015 thanks to the good order situation and utilization of production capacity.

"The order situation had already developed positively in the previous year. This trend continued seamlessly in 2014. From the beginning of the year onwards, sales exceeded the planned figures virtually every month. There were more customer orders than expected so that we were able to achieve a correspondingly good result - thanks to the tireless effort of all our employees," a delighted Bernhard Zangerl, Chief Executive Officer at Bachmann electronic, states. The latest personnel figures, with a 9% increase in 2014 to a worldwide total of over 420 (as at 31.12.2014), also indicate the further continuation of this positive trend.

Strong presence in all sectors
Successful developments can be seen in all strategic target sectors. In the wind sector, there have been a large number of incoming orders from China and a good response to the condition monitoring and retrofit solutions in the USA. The new Bachmann USA Headquarters have been set up in Boston in order to optimally serve the US market. "The Indian market is also very promising, and the conditions are very good here for the use of wind power. We will naturally continue to keep our eyes open for other growth opportunities in the renewable energy sector, which we see, for example, in South America and in Turkey," CEO Bernhard Zangerl explains.

The reports from the marine sector are equally positive. "Also here we were able to once more achieve high two-digit growth and are expecting strong growth in the coming years," Bernhard Zangerl is optimistic. Based on this success, another branch was set up last April in Bremen, Germany, as a base for customers from the maritime sector and for cultivating the Scandinavian market.

In the industrial sector, the continuous further development of the product portfolio has not only enabled Bachmann to maintain good business relations with existing customers, but also to be very well received by new potential customers. "The machine builders are showing great interest, particularly in new technologies such as M1 webMI pro web visualization," stresses Werner Elender, Chief Operating Officer of Bachmann electronic.

Promising outlook
Last but not least, the subsidiary companies are also contributing to the good sales results of the Bachmann Group. Bachmann Monitoring is extremely successful in selling solutions for the condition monitoring of wind turbines. A major project is currently being completed and new customers are promising large potential sales for the entire group. The atvise® HMI/SCADA software supplier Certec has also been developing successfully. "The solutions for a web-enabled visualization in particular, which technologically strengthen the Bachmann portfolio, are increasingly becoming an important factor for choosing Bachmann, also with existing customers," COO Werner Elender sums up the projects with the most promising future.
