Bachmann electronic, global market leader in wind turbine automation, will present the latest developments in wind energy at the upcoming wind trade fair, which is taking place for the first time in 2 years.

Bachmann's wind expertise, along with its commitment to the future, is demonstrated through its automation of more than 120,000 wind turbines worldwide. Accordingly, Bachmann is also a member of the Global Wind Energy Coalition, to be represented at the 26th Climate Change Conference of Participants (COP26) of the United Nations in October and November. The automation specialist, based in Feldkirch, Austria, will highlight its leadership in high-tech solutions and services for wind power at Husum Wind.

Intelligent solutions include, for example, the Cantilever Sensor (CLS) for rotor blade and tower monitoring. With the CLS, blade load detection, ice detection and structural monitoring can be carried out using the same technology; acquired data can then be reliably transmitted for analysis. The CLS is easy to install and extremely robust, making it particularly well suited to offshore use - both in new turbines and the retrofit of existing plants.

In its technological development, Bachmann focuses on increasing profitability and extending the operating lifetimes of wind turbines. Diagnostics and IT security are of the highest priority in the manufacturer's product solutions, alongside the automation of individual plants through to entire wind farms.

"Particularly for offshore turbines, the cost of service intervention and downtime is extremely high. With our Condition Monitoring Systems, maintenance can be better planned, maximizing operating times and plant yield. This has a positive effect on both the overall service life of plants and the LCOE (levelized cost of energy)," explains Gabriel Schwanzer, Director of Business Unit Wind at Bachmann electronic. "The topic of data and access protection - in other words IT security - is particularly important to us. Energy generation and its feed into the public grid are part of critical infrastructure; we acknowledge the unique requirements in this area and attach great importance to the protection of hardware and software."

The Bachmann Group’s wind industry system solutions can be found in exhibition hall 5, stand B07.
