Cyber-attacks on industrial control systems are rising worldwide. Bachmann electronic has been committed to a high level of OT (operational technology) security for many years and has now underlined this with the successful certification of its M200 automation solution in accordance with IEC 62443-4-2.

At Bachmann electronic, plant protection is based on the “defense-in-depth” principle: coordinated protection measures at different levels of the controller increase resilience and minimize the impact of an attack. Both operators and integrators benefit from a resilient and future-proof solution and can efficiently build their own cyber security concepts on it.

IEC 62443-4-2 defines concrete requirements for the information technology security of components such as controllers, communication devices, and software modules. It aims in particular at product manufacturers and is a decisive step toward bringing industrial automation systems up to the latest state of the art in cybersecurity.

Bachmann electronic had already been certified for secure development processes in accordance with IEC 62443-4-1. Together, the two standards cover the entire cybersecurity chain – from development and implementation to operation.
