Vibration Analysis Training and Certification

Category 1, 2 and 3 - Approved by BINDT

Complete your vibration analyst qualifications (Cat 1, 2 or 3) with condition monitoring expert Bachmann Monitoring GmbH GmbH at our BINDT-approved Training Center in Rudolstadt, Germany.

Training is carried out in both English and German and in full accordance with ISO 18436. Independent examination takes place on site following the week-long course, and successful participants will be entered into the BINDT (British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing) “PCN Certified Practitioners in Vibration Analysis” register.

Approval from BINDT independently verifies the high quality of training delivered by Bachmann and validates our training center to global standards.

Course registration requires prior experience in condition monitoring with vibration analysis. For Category 1 and Category 2, experience relates to vibration measurement and machinery identification, whereas Category 3 requires experience in condition-based maintenance, alternative monitoring techniques and planning methods, as well as in-depth knowledge of several vibration analysis techniques.

All participants will receive a questionnaire prior to registration to assess existing knowledge in accordance with the predefined entry requirements.

Vibration Analyst Training Courses

Vibration Analysis I – Category 1

As per ISO 18436-2, Category 1 – The curriculum is intended to provide sufficient theoretical knowledge to support a range of pre-defined, simple vibration measurement tasks. There will be practical content to support this learning and to help to apply it to real-world situations.

The training includes many case studies and examples of typical machines on which this might be applied.

This course supports certification as a category 1 Vibration Analyst through the BINDT PCN scheme.

Target Group

  • Technicians tasked with collecting vibration data for the purposes of Condition Monitoring. This is basic training for initial entry to the field of Condition Monitoring

Vibration Analysis II – Category 2

As per ISO18436-2, Category 2 – The curriculum is intended to provide sufficient theoretical knowledge to extend the knowledge of someone who has already reached Category 1.

In addition to the simple vibration tasks outlined above, the theory will support phase measurements, simple signal processing and basic fault analysis. There will be practical content to support this learning and to help to apply it to real-world situations.

Examples and Case Studies will be taken from various machine types relevant to this level. This course supports certification as a category 2 Vibration Analyst through the BINDT PCN scheme.

Target Group

  • Technicians working with vibration data for the purpose of machine Condition Monitoring. This course is aimed at technicians with knowledge equivalent to Category 1 and at least 18 months experience in the field, who routinely carry out diagnosis and reporting as well as basic measurement screening

Prerequisites

  • Minimum 18 months experience

Vibration Analysis III – Category 3

As per ISO18436-2, Category 3 – The curriculum is intended to provide sufficient theoretical knowledge to extend the knowledge of someone who has already reached Category 2.

In addition to the standard vibration tasks outlined above, the theory will support the design of Condition Monitoring programmes including alarm and frequency band configuration.

The training includes guidance on fault finding and root cause analysis, as well as the application of alternative techniques to complement or confirm results from Vibration Analysis. There will be practical content to support this learning and to help to apply it to real-world situations. Examples and Case Studies will be taken from various machine types relevant to this level.

This course supports certification as a category 3 Vibration Analyst through the BINDT PCN scheme.
