On April 18, 2023, the expert panel organized by VDMA on the topic of "Ways to create value from machine data" took place at HANNOVER MESSE. The event, moderated by Haras Najib - Technology & Innovation Officer at VDMA e.V. - brought together selected experts from the wind energy and industrial sectors.

Holger Fritsch, Managing Director at Bachmann Monitoring GmbH, was among the experts  in the panel discussion about the growing importance of information and data obtained from machines and plants. Despite the increasing relevance, the targeted use of machine data remains a major challenge for many companies.

The focus was on how potential business partners can work together to overcome the obstacles and achieve fair value creation from machine data. Using case studies from the wind industry, the panel of experts discussed how companies can increase their productivity and efficiency and open new business areas through better use of machine data.

Holger Fritsch emphasized: "The targeted use of machine data offers companies enormous potential for optimizing processes. However, we also must face the challenges posed by digitalization. Particularly in the area of data sharing, we need to look for ways to make good and secure decisions." It is precisely in this regard that the VDMA's guideline is intended to provide practical guidance to market participants. 

The expert panel offered participants the opportunity to exchange ideas across industries and to gain new insights based on practical examples from the respective sectors. Overall, the discussion was rated as very productive and inspiring.
