Training courses - Category I to III

Following the success of our first course participants in April 2021, we are now planning this year’s approved training in Vibration Analysis for categories I to III, in our Rudolstadt Training Center. In order to be able to classify the participants according to their qualifications for the right training, their practical & theoretical knowledge and experience will be evaluated before the beginning of the courses. This can ensure a smooth and efficient course completion, after which the participants may sit an independent examination of the respective category, for entry into the register of „PCN Certified Practitioners in Vibration Analysis“ administered by the British Institute of Non-Distructive Testing.

To comply with the COVID-19 protection measures, five participants at a time can attend the course in person, which is completed with an external examination.

The curriculum has been built around vibration analysis according to ISO 18436-2. The course is addressed to international participants and is therefore offered in English and German.

Since this is a competency based scheme, admission requires prior experience with condition monitoring using vibration analysis. For Category 1 and Category 2 the experience relates to taking the measurements and machinery identification, whereas Category 3 expects experience in condition-based maintenance, alternative monitoring techniques and planning methods as well as in-depth knowledge of several vibration analysis techniques. All interested parties will receive a questionnaire prior to registration in which individual prior knowledge will be requested.

"This allows us to ensure that our training program is oprimized for each group of participants and meets the guidelines for certification by BINDT," says David Futter, Head of Condition Monitoring Consultancy and Approved Training Coordinator at Bachmann Monitoring."
