Einleitung

Wind turbines are often equipped with a diverse set of monitoring systems, the most common of which include Condition Monitoring Systems (CMS), Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), along with a logbook record of all Operation and Maintenance (O&M) activities.

Each different monitoring system is usually implemented independently, therefore delivering decentralized and, at times, incomplete information. This makes it extremely challenging for owners and operators to gain a clear understanding of the status of the entire turbine or park.

This paper demonstrates the benefits of centralizing information obtained from different monitoring systems, using application case examples from operational wind turbines, and highlights the importance of a holistic approach to monitoring.
