Bachmann Technology for the Next Generation of Innovators

Feldkirch, Austria - July 16, 2020

Bachmann electronic continues to support innovation and education in Vorarlberg through its ongoing collaboration with the HTL Bregenz. The Feldkirch automation specialist recently donated a selection of new controller systems and modules to the local polytechnic institute, replacing previously donated Bachmann hardware.

As global market leader in wind automation, Bachmann electronic is a particularly interesting partner for today’s students, whose values often extend to combating climate change and improving the availability of sustainable energy. Bachmann automation technologies support the efficient operation of wind turbines, including maintenance and lifetime extension. This drives down the total cost of wind power, making it more competitive on the energy market.

The new Bachmann equipment encourages HTL students to experiment, innovate and learn. Several students are already working on a project to automatically synchronize power generating units with the supply grid. This is possible thanks to the donated Grid Measurement, Synchronisation and Protection module.

Software development and engineering are critical topics for Bachmann, who launched the apprenticeship “Software Development and Coding” in 2018 following the launch of a dedicated software team in Innsbruck and Rendsburg (North Germany). With their recent contribution, the company signals its continued interest in ongoing collaboration with schools and colleges throughout Vorarlberg.
